The idea behind Zunderwork started back in 2014 as a student testing tool, a study project meant to check whether people had actually learned the material. Over the years it grew into a full learning platform. It got a new life when one of our customers, a recreation park with more than 100 employees, came looking for a better way to train its people.
The park wanted something specific. New staff and temporary workers should arrive prepared, with the minimum knowledge they need already in place. That way a new colleague shows up ready on the very first day, and can help visitors from the start instead of learning everything over someone's shoulder.
A thumbs-up is not proof
The platforms they first looked at did not meet their needs. A recreation park in the Netherlands has to be able to show that its staff is properly trained, and many systems simply do not track that. In one of the options they were offered, employees had to click a thumbs-up to say they had read the course. No testing, no real check. You could not prove a thing.
For a park that has to demonstrate its people are trained, that is a dead end. "They clicked a button" is not the same as "they know what to do."
Testing instead of ticking a box
Zunderwork works differently. It is a modern system where you can see, per employee and per department, who has finished which course. You can test knowledge during a course as a check, so completing it actually means something. The result is a clear overview of who is ready and who still needs a little more.
Every department, its own way of working
A recreation park is not one group of people doing the same job. It has several departments, each with its own rules and routines. With Zunderwork each one gets its own training.
- Attractions: how to deal with visitors, ride rules and safety.
- Food and drink: from the kitchen to serving guests.
- Animals: from enclosure upkeep to caring for the animals.
- Office staff: the till, cyber security and more.
- Maintenance: from ride maintenance to building information.
- Grounds and greenery: what the park needs kept up in each season.
One course everyone sees first
Some things matter to everyone. General information about the park, the house rules and safety are bundled into a course that is available to every team. Using course rules you can set this, this becomes the first course everyone reads, no matter which department they join.
So the shared basics land with every single person, and the department-specific training builds on top of it.

Ready from day one
Put it together and the picture is simple. New staff and temporary workers go through the general course and their department training before they ever set foot on the floor. They arrive with the minimum knowledge already in place, and the park can prove it. From their very first day, they can help visitors.
Not just for a theme park
Zunderwork suits many different kinds of businesses, from small to large, from industry to a theme park. The need is the same everywhere. Get the right knowledge to the right people, test that it landed, and be able to show it. Not sure if it fits your situation? We are happy to look at whether Zunderwork works for your business too.
